Motorola radio products are designed, tested and manufactured to the standards required by the European Union in its Directive 1999/5/EC. The essential requirements of R&TTE govern:
The business processes that produce Motorola's radio products are certified and regularly audited by a European Union Notified Body. This means that each radio product: 1) Is marked with the CE label; and, 2) Has a "Declaration of Conformity" (DoC).
Adopted in 1993 as part of long-time efforts to create a single European market, the CE label means the product conforms with all health, safety and environmental protection standards of the 18-nation European Union and is therefore eligible to be sold within those countries. CE is an acronym for "Conformité Européene," which is French for "European Conformity."
